Good to know
Welcome to your cozy, design-forward retreat in the heart of Moonridge. Here, the pace slows down and simple pleasures take center stage — a record spinning, fresh-brewed coffee by the pines, and slow mornings wrapped in a blanket. Our space is crafted for connection, comfort, and that deep exhale you’ve been needing. ✨ Mid-Century Warmth Meets Modern Comfort Inside our 1960s chalet, you’ll find curated mid-century touches paired with modern amenities. Settle into the plush sofa or leather lounge chairs, put a vinyl on the record player, or stream your favorite show on the smart TV. New heating and air conditioning keep the space comfortable year-round — a rare perk in Big Bear. 🍳 Kitchen With Forest Views The updated kitchen includes modern appliances, a farmhouse sink overlooking the trees, multiple coffee-making options, quality cookware, and a small bar setup for evening cocktails. Just off the kitchen is a cozy live-edge wood dining table seating two, perfect for meals, coffee, or working with a view. Whether you’re cooking a cozy breakfast or enjoying takeout from the Village, it’s all easy here. 🚿 The Sunset Shower (One of Our Most-Loved Features) Our bathroom features a one-of-a-kind 70s sunset-inspired ombré shower, featured by Fireclay Tile and Apartment Therapy. After a day of skiing, hiking, or exploring, it’s the perfect place to warm up and reset. 🛏️ Comfortable Bedrooms for Restful Nights The cabin is single-level and includes: • One private bedroom with a queen bed, soft linens, warm lighting, and views of the surrounding pines. • A second bedroom/den with a cozy daybed and pull-out trundle each equipped with twin memory foam mattresses, perfect for a small family or an additional guest. Both rooms are calm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed for a great night’s sleep. 🔥 Private Deck, Hot Tub, Fire Pit & Grill Step outside to your own peaceful mountain oasis. • Soak in the private hot tub surrounded by pines and our quiet wooded slope. • Relax by the fire pit beside our hand-painted outdoor mural — perfect for evening conversations or stargazing. • Fire up the grill for an easy outdoor meal after a day of adventure. • In winter, the gentle slope becomes your very own sledding hill (sleds provided). It’s scenic, serene, and intentionally crafted for relaxation. 📍 Prime Moonridge Location Our chalet sits in one of Big Bear’s most-loved neighborhoods: • 1 mile to Bear Mountain Ski Resort • 0.5 miles to the Alpine Zoo • Near Moonridge cafés and shops • A quick drive to Big Bear Lake, hiking trails, and the Village You get the quiet of the pines with fast access to everything! 💛 For Couples, Small Families & Solo Retreats The chalet is tailored for couples, but also works beautifully for a group of three friends, a small family or a peaceful solo escape. Guests often come here to celebrate anniversaries, recharge from city life, or enjoy a slow, cozy mountain weekend. 🌙 Your Big Bear Reset Whether you’re here to ski, soak in the hot tub under the stars, explore the woods, or simply rest — we’ve built Gold Moon Chalet to help you reconnect, slow down, and refresh your mind, body, and spirit. We’d love to host your stay and make your time in Big Bear memorable, restorative, and easy. ⸻ 🔔 Other Things to Note 🌨 Winter Driving, Chains & Mountain Conditions Weather in Big Bear can change quickly, especially in winter. Before driving up the mountain, please check road via Caltrans QuickMap or another reliable online source. Caltrans requires all vehicles to carry tire chains when chain controls may be in effect during snowy weather. We also strongly recommend arriving before dark during winter months for safety and comfort. 🔥 Propane for Grill & Fire Pit We provide propane tanks for both the grill and outdoor propane fire pit; however, propane is not guaranteed to be full for each guest. If you plan to use either amenity, please check the propane level upon arrival. Guests are responsible for refilling propane if needed. The closest refill station is DIY Home Center on Big Bear Blvd (about 6 minutes away). 🗑 Trash Disposal (City Requirement) All guests are encouraged to take their trash to: Clean Bear Site #1 – 41974 Garstin Dr, Big Bear Lake, CA It’s quick and easy, though it can be busiest on Sunday mornings. 🐻 Wildlife Big Bear is home to raccoons, coyotes, deer, and the occasional bear. For your safety, never leave food, trash, or coolers outside. ♨ Hot Tub Please shower before entering. No soaps, oils, or bath products. Replace the cover after each use to help maintain heat and water quality. ❄ Mini-Split Heater/AC (DF Mode) While very rare, the mini-split system may temporarily show “DF” on the display during cold weather. This means it has entered defrost mode, which is completely normal and typically resolves on its own within a few minutes. Heating will resume automatically. 🏡 City Rental License This property is a licensed and registered Big Bear Lake Transient Private Home Rental. The city requires guests to follow occupancy, parking, quiet hours, and trash rules. Full details are included in the House Rules.
